This list was originally about translators (the people Honyaku Plus subcontracts to), but I realized that this list was applicable not only to the people we hire, but to ourselves as well in our dealings with our clients. And I suppose that it applies to any subcontractor in any field.
The ideal subcontractor
– Is available by phone or email during business hours (even if to say “I’m busy”)
– Accepts work almost always
– Provides a good-quality result on time
– Points out problems with the job (errors or problems with the work or our processes) and offers solutions whenever possible
– Is courteous
– Works with the job requester to solve their customer’s problems (short deadlines, special requests, etc.)
– Is not too expensive (works within the economic constraints that the job requester is under)
